Former Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb asserted that the opposition candidates’ votes should not exceed one lakh votes.

AGARTALA, Tripura, April 3 (HBTV): The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Lok Sabha candidate for the high-profile West Tripura parliamentary constituency and former Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb today rallied party workers to intensify their groundwork across all organizational booths, aiming to ensure that the opposition candidate's total vote count ‘remains under one lakh votes.’

With over 14 lakh eligible voters in his constituency, Deb emphasized the importance of avoiding complacence and instead urged efforts to secure victory.

Speaking at a public meeting and joining program in the 6-Agartala assembly segment, Kumar Deb asserted that the opposition candidates’ votes should not exceed one lakh votes.

During the event, 450 voters defecting from the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPIM) and Congress joined the saffron party.

Deb did not mince words in criticizing Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, accusing him of colluding with CPIM during the assembly elections.

The BJP's victory in Tripura not only ended CPIM’s prolonged misrule but also unveiled the clandestine alliance between the CPIM and Congress before public, Deb said at the rally.
